6. Your Roku refreshes and is signed in

5. Enter the code shown on the TV

   In the activation code field on your second device, enter the code displayed on your Fire TV screen exactly as shown, then submit it.

6. Fire TV signs you in automatically

   Your Fire TV detects the successful activation and signs you in without any further action. The app transitions to your account’s home screen.

Apple TV

1. Install the streaming app from the App Store

   On your Apple TV (tvOS), open the App Store, search for the streaming service you want, and install the app. If it is already installed, skip to the next step.

2. Launch the app

   Return to the Apple TV home screen and open the newly installed streaming app.

3. Select Sign In

   On the app’s welcome screen, choose Sign In. If you see multiple sign-in options, select the one that refers to signing in on a web browser or using an activation code rather than entering a password directly.

4. Note the URL and activation code

   The app will display an activation URL and a unique code on the Apple TV screen. The code is time-limited, so proceed to the next step quickly.

5. Visit the URL on your iPhone, iPad, or computer

   On your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or any other computer, open a browser and navigate to the activation URL. Sign in to your streaming account when prompted.

6. Enter the code

   Type the activation code shown on your Apple TV into the field on your second device and confirm. Some streaming apps also support one-tap activation if you are signed in on the same Apple ID — follow any on-screen prompts.

7. tvOS signs you in automatically

   Once the code is validated, tvOS detects the completed sign-in and automatically logs you in to the streaming app. Your personalized home screen will appear on the Apple TV.

Chromecast

1. Open the streaming app from the Google TV home screen

   On your Chromecast with Google TV, navigate to the Apps tab on the home screen or find the streaming app in your installed apps row. Install it from the Google Play Store if it isn’t already on your device.

   Enter the code shown on your Chromecast’s Google TV screen into the activation field on your second device, then confirm.

6. Chromecast signs you in

   Your Chromecast with Google TV detects the successful activation and automatically signs you in. The streaming app will load your personalized content and you can start watching right away.

If you do not see a code on screen after selecting Sign In, check whether the app offers an option labeled “Sign in using a mobile or web browser”, “Use a web browser to sign in”, or “Get an activation code” — selecting one of these will trigger the activation flow and display the URL and code. Some apps show this as a secondary or alternative sign-in method rather than the default.
